When a building, a project, or a programme is begun it is always considered best to be “in at the beginning”. Being “in at the beginning” is more than being present. It is being actively involved in launching the project, being connected to what is unfolding, mentally and emotionally and finally being committed to seeing it through to the end.
If you consider that today you are beginning a project called the “rest of my life,” I think you’ll see that’s its important you decide not only that you are going to around for the next x number of years but that you are going to be actively engaged and committed to creating the life you want. This series on Eric Butterworth’s Positrends or Negatrends is an inventory of some of the problem areas of our society as we move into the 21st century.
Let’s face it. We are in the midst of a revolution on all fronts. We were all shaken up pretty badly in 2008 and since that time our attitude to wealth and financial security has undergone a very necessary readjustment. But an adjustment to what, greater insecurity, more fear or something else? We are experiencing shifts in how healthcare is provided or in some cases NOT provided and this is bring up issues for some of us as we age. The workplace is changing as well, entrepreneurs and private contractors are the norm today. We are redefining the word “job”. We are also going through a relationship revolution with more and more people opting for “non traditional” families and gender roles.
These shifts and the multitude of others taking place require an expansion of consciousness, a movement away from the security and predictability of old models to an interest in new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving in the world.
Be in “at the beginning” this Sunday as we begin an examination of what it means to be forging new attitudes, beliefs and opinions about everything in your world and choosing to have the very best experience of life you can have starting now.
