Say 'Yes!' to Your Dreams

"The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams don’t scare you, they are not big enough." - Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

The above quote has been in a frame in my living room since Oct 2, 2016, the day the five practitioners were officially installed at CSL White Rock. The frame was given to me by two friends who attended the celebration. While the quote resonated with me deeply upon hearing it, it wasn’t until last Sunday that I really understood it’s meaning.

I’ve been in an accelerated intention course over the past month and, last Sunday, I met with a classmate for a marathon session of brainstorming intentions and timelines to support each other on our journey of dream building. At times, I was struggling with the ‘how to’ of my dreams. My dream seemed so big and unattainable and my human mind was getting worried. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my picture frame waiting patiently to bring Truth back into my thinking.

Here’s the Truth: we are not supposed to know the details, the ‘how to’ of life, because if we knew all the answers, there would be no room for God to unfold. We wouldn’t need to rely on or trust something greater than our human selves. We would stay firmly planted in the relative and not trust the absolute where the answers are waiting. Simply put, it’s not our job to know the ‘how’.

Our job is clear – say ‘Yes!’ to when Life directs us to some goal or dream and trust that the same thing that created us will also create the circumstances for the dream to unfold. While there may be some benefits to knowing all the details, we would never grow beyond our current capacity because it is only in faith that we expand our consciousness which allows our dreams to manifest.

So, let’s give ourselves a break from needing to figure it all out, rest in knowing that Life has our backs, and simply enjoy the ride!
