Dear friend,
Last week I shared with you what it's like to grow that comfort zone and venture into the unknown of new and tender beginnings. I talked about how it includes the whole range of human emotion and how ceremony and ritual provide a way for us to channel that emotion into a powerful and mindful new beginning. Well, this past Sunday we had our Celebration and Installation Ceremony to officially welcome me as the new Spiritual Director and wow! It was incredible.
It's not even possible to convey in words how moving, wonderful, powerful, and meaningful this experience was for the community. Many of us had never experienced an Installation Ceremony before (including myself - this is my first time as a senior minister). We were blessed by the facilitation of Rev. Dr. Nadene Rogers who took us through the experience step-by-step as the board, licensed practitioners, members, myself, and the community declared our commitment to one another and spiritual living. It's so powerful to say out loud what your commitment is and how you will be with one another. It sets your trajectory and puts the wheels in motion for new activity, ideas, and blessings.
It truly was one of the best experiences of my life and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this community. Serving in this capacity makes my whole life make more sense. I can see how everything I've gone through has all led me to this position and this community at this time. There were moments along my path that I questioned myself or where I was headed. But, from this vantage point, I can see how this community and I have manifested this new partnership as the next way to live our divine purpose both individually and collectively.
I'm excited to see where it all leads us next! I hope you will join us on Sundays at 10:30 am for our weekly in-person gathering in South Surrey. In the meantime, I've included a few photos for you. See you soon!
Love,
Cassandra
